Rescuing Rubbish: Sea Lion Pup Wanders Around San Francisco

Subscribe
A Sea Lion pup is spotted wandering around the streets of San Francisco - and desperately doesn't want to be rescued.

Nicknamed rubbish, the Sea Lion was spotted by a tourist who immediately called for help. However, the pup didn't seem to care very much about being rescued. The video shows members of the Marine Mammal Center try to capture the little Sea Lion as he stubbornly avoids them and hides underneath the car. After giving them a little bit of a hard time, Rubbish was finally captured and safely taken to the Marine Mammal Center.

Interestingly enough, this isn't Rubbish's first adventure. The pup was rescued last February when he was found waddling around Santa Barbra County.

Rubbish is one of over 1,800 California sealions that have been stranded across the coast of California due to drastically warm ocean weather that have resulted in dwindling food supplies for the animals.
