Manhunt for Escaped Convicted Killer Continues in Illinois, Reward Offered

Convicted murderer Kamron Taylor escaped from the Jerome Combs Detention Center at approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning by overpowering a correctional officer.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Kankakee County, Illinois Sheriff’s Office is searching for escaped convicted murderer Kamron Taylor and is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, the office announced on its Twitter account on Wednesday.

Taylor escaped from the Jerome Combs Detention Center at approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning by overpowering a correctional officer, the police said in a press release.

The inmate took the officer’s keys and uniform, and fled the facility by driving away in a vehicle he had stolen from the officer.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that Taylor was recently convicted of murder and was awaiting sentencing.

The police reiterated that Taylor is armed and dangerous, and advised the public to call the 911 emergency number if they see him or the stolen vehicle.
