KIEV (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, Russian energy giant Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said that Ukraine’s Naftogaz had not made contracted prepayments for April supplies yet.

Russia Confirms Termination of Gas Transit Through Ukraine After 2019
"It is not made yet, but we plan to do it," the Ukrainian energy minister said at a press briefing.

Gazprom cut gas deliveries to Ukraine last summer, citing a $5 billion Kiev debt.

Gas deliveries were renewed December 2014, under a winter-package deal. That deal, which expired on March 31, requires advance payments from Kiev at a discounted price of $329 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas.

On Tuesday, the Russian government extended the price discount for Russian gas supplied to Ukraine for three months due to Ukraine's failing economy.
