The organizers expect more than 2,000 delegates from political, business, academic and media circles to attend the event. Among them will be 80 officials and 65 heads of Fortune 500 companies.
The March 26-29 conference in the southern Chinese city of Boao comprises 77 official events devoted to economic cooperation, technical innovation, political security and social welfare under the headline, “Asia's New Future: Towards a Community of Common Destiny.”
The hosts stressed that the conference would increase interest in quickly expanding the so-called Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road thereby increasing cooperation between Asia and the rest of the world.
The Boao Forum For Asia, initiated in 1998 by leaders of the Philippines, Australia and Japan, was first held in 2001.
