"If only all those who died in the plane crash were Catalan," one user reportedly tweeted. Another user wrote that the plane accident was "very good" as it involved Catalans.

On Tuesday, a Germanwings Airbus A320 crashed in the French Alps. The plane had 144 passengers and six members of crew on board.

According to local media, Francisco Martinez, state secretary for security of Spain, announced Wednesday that 49 Spaniards had lost their lives in the plane crash.
