Rebel Houthis Offer $100,000 Reward for Capture of Yemeni President
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Houthis, who forced Hadi and his cabinet to resign in January, are currently transporting the former defense minister to Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, the source said.

The former president’s brother, Nasser Mansour Hadi, and General Faisal Rajab of the Yemeni army's 119th Brigade have also been detained.

Earlier on Wednesday, a local government source told Sputnik that the former Yemeni president had fled his Aden home.

The rebel Houthi group offered to pay $100,000 for the arrest of Hadi, who disavowed his resignation in February.

Houthis are one of the main ethnic groups in Yemen, having taken over the capital Sanaa. In February, the group dissolved the Yemeni parliament and created a presidential council in a "constitutional declaration."

The Houthi rebels are fighting troops loyal to Hadi in central Yemen and al-Qaeda militants in the south of the country.
