A plane with 79 aboard has landed safely in St. Petersburg after one of its engines failed.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — UTair’s flight UT369 has made an emergency landing in St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo airport, an aviation source said Wednesday.

The plane, a Boeing 737, was carrying 73 passengers and six crew members when one of its engines allegedly failed.

“The plane landed safely at 12:33 p.m. [9:30 a.m. GMT]. No passengers were injured,” the source told RIA Novosti.

The company confirmed the information to RIA Novosti.

"The plane landed, there were no casualties," UTair's representative said.

The plane was heading from Moscow's Vnukovo airport to Russia's second largest city of St. Petersburg.
