The Austrian Air Force has put off its pilot training program due to the lack of suitable candidates.

"We had to postpone this year’s initial screening for future military pilots from May to the autumn of 2015 because with just two men we cannot enter this intense nine-week course of the ensuing multi-staged three-year program," said Colonel Peter Trierweiler, who is responsible for the training.

Russian fighter jets and ground support aircraft will practice penetration of enemy's air defenses during a month-long exercise in Siberia, the Eastern Military District said Friday. - Sputnik International

Only two out of 152 candidates who reported for medical examinations have passed as medically and mentally able.

According to HIS news site, government statistics show the medical fitness of young male Austrian conscripts in line with that in most Western European nations.
