Russia will begin inspecting livestock farming facilities in Greece, Cyprus and Hungary starting on April 6, which will allow them to begin exports immediately after Russia lifts its agricultural embargo, a representative of Russia's agricultural watchdog, Aleksey Alekseyenko announced.
"We are ready to inspect all enterprises interested in resuming shipments after the embargo is lifted, first of all livestock facilities, as well as crop producers. We are awaiting agreement on the procedure with colleagues in the Customs Union," Alekseyenko told RIA Novosti.
According to media reports, the new inspections will be done according to new Eurasian Union rules, and will be conducted at enterprises that have not been previously checked.
Meanwhile, Poland, Germany and France also announced their desire to undergo inspection, but the watchdog currently has no plans to inspect their facilities, according to Russian media.
