The current 25th place is the highest position MSU ever occupied in the Times’ list. In 2014 the Moscow university was placed among the top-60 most respected schools in the world.

Another Russian university that made it to the Times' top-100 this year is the Saint Petersburg State University. It was ranked 71-80, along with the US Boston University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Netherlands Utrecht University. This is the first time Saint Petersburg State University was named in the World Reputation Rankings.

The rankings' top-ten this year, just like in 2014, was occupied solely by US and British schools with Harvard topping the list and the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford occupying second and third position respectively.
