German Industry Attempts to Avoid Four-Day Deutsche Bahn Train Strike

Subscribe
This will be the biggest strike ever faced by Deutsche Bahn since its foundation and the seventh strike action by train drivers since September.

Germany’s rail company Deutsche Bahn attempted to prevent a four-day train strike by resuming negotiations with union leaders.

According to Ulrich Weber, a personnel director of Deutsche Bahn, they would try and do their best to gain a positive result and come to a consensus.

Weber didn’t provide any detailed information of the talks, which came after the GDL train drivers union' decision on Wednesday to walk off the job for 100 hours or four days after Deutsche Bahn rejected requests from the workers, including a call for shorter working hours and a 5-per-cent salary raise for some of its employees.

This will be the biggest strike ever faced by Deutsche Bahn since its foundation and the seventh strike action by train drivers since September.
