MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Danish police believe that the man they fatally shot Sunday morning in Copenhagen was the gunman in twin lethal shootings in Denmark's capital, The Telegraph newspaper reported citing the police.

Earlier Sunday, the Copenhagen police killed a man in Norrebro district of the city. The man was deemed a "person of interest" by the police, and opened fire at the officers. The policemen then shot the suspect fatally.

On Saturday, one person was killed and three were injured as a result of a shooting in a Copenhagen cafe during a debate on role of art, blasphemy and free speech. Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt said Saturday shooting was a terrorist attack.

On Sunday, one person was shot dead and two police officers were wounded as a result of an attack on a synagogue in the Danish capital.
