SIMFEROPOL (Sputnik) — Bulgaria's Attack party will raise the issue of recognizing the results of Crimea's referendum on reunification with Russia in the country's parliament, the party's leader Volen Siderov said Friday.
"We have seen with our own eyes that the life in Crimea is going as normal, people are living to the full, that there is no tension in Crimea. This is what we'll say in the Bulgarian parliament. We want to state firmly that the Attack party in Bulgaria recognizes the referendum and Crimea as a part of the Russian Federation," Volen Siderov said at a meeting with the republic's leadership.
Crimea and Sevastopol became Russian regions following a referendum held in March, 2014 when the majority of voters backed seceding from Ukraine and reuniting with Russia.
Created in 2005, Attack is a Bulgarian far-right party, which promotes a non-aligned status for Bulgaria and welcomes the renewal and deepening of Russian-Bulgarian ties.
