According to the data from 75 percent of polling stations across the country, Greece's leftist Syriza party is leading the country's snap elections with 36.12 percent of the votes.

ATHENS, January 26 (Sputnik) — Greece's leftist Syriza party is leading the country's snap elections with 36.12 percent of the votes and receives 149 seats in parliament, according to the data from 75 percent of polling stations across the country.

The ANEL party, which earlier expressed readiness to form a coalition with anti-austerity Syriza, gets 4.7 percent of the votes and 13 seats in parliament.

New Democracy party led by the current Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is running second with 28.08 percent of the votes and gets 77 seats. It is followed by far-right Golden Dawn party which gained 6.3 percent of the votes and 17 sets.

According to the preliminary results, a total of seven parties have managed to pass the 3-percent threshold needed to enter the parliament.
