MOSCOW, January 20 (Sputnik) — An international activist entity ‘Freedom Now’ have launched an online campaign, aimed at raising $10 mln in order to finance a coup d’etat in North Korea, ouster its ruler Kim Jong Un, liberating the nation of the oppressive Communist regime.

Freedom Now are planning to establish a networking circle of revolutionaries within North Korea, believing this will provide an opportunity for local defectors, political prisoners and other victims of the regime to undertake a democratic revolution.

North Korea has recently drawn a lot of international attention over its alleged involvement in the hack of the Sony Pictures internal network in retaliation for the comedy film ‘the Interview’, poking fun at Kim.

Freedom Now claim to be a “covert multi-national group with the sole mission of putting a stop to the tyrannical regime of Kim Jong-Un, as well as bringing freedom and democracy to the people of North Korea,” according to their crowdfunding plea at Indiegogo. Founded by a certain Andrew Fox, the activist group intends to help organize an anti-Communist resistance movement.

“If the resistance is successful in carrying out a change of power in North Korea, not only would the entire world be free of the constant threat of nuclear attack, but over 200,000 innocent men, woman, and children would gain their freedom from concentration camps, over 24 million people would experience freedom for the first time in their lives, and medical care and food would be immediately available to millions of families on the brink of starvation,“ activists say.

Freedom Now also offer benefits to those who donate them money. For instance, having donated $10, you will be awarded a certificate with expressions of gratitude, while for $500 the donator would receive insignia of a ‘freedom-fighter’. Media outlets can get access to full coverage of the group’s activities for a donation of $15,000.

A similar fundraising plea has also been made available from Coinfunder.

Freedom Now also say that many of North Korea’s military and political elite are secretly opposed to Kin Jong Un’s reign and would therefore be ready to cooperate with the resistance movement. Millions of citizens in North Korea would embrace change and they are unhappy with their quality of life at this point, the activists argue.

“The major obstacle for these individuals is knowing who else is out there with the same desire as well as who they can trust,” Freedom Now say.
