At the moment the bombs are reported to have no connection with the October blast in the city of Burdwan in West Bengal state, which killed two militants from the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh group. The explosion occurred while the rebels were making crude bombs in a privately owned house.

Last month, a similar blast outside a busy restaurant in India's Bengaluru killed a woman and wounded a man, Reuters reported.

In December 2014, police discovered some 70 bombs in the city of Sattore in Birbhum district.
