Russia to Send 10th Humanitarian Convoy to Ukraine Within Days
MOSCOW, December 17 (Sputnik) – Another Russian humanitarian aid convoy, the 10th for the self-proclaimed eastern Ukrainian people's republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, is scheduled for December 18, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said Wednesday.

“At 6:00 a.m. [03:00 GMT] on December 18, 2014, another convoy with humanitarian aid for the Luhansk and Donetsk regions will leave the Noginsk Rescue Center,” a ministry statement reads.

The convoy will deliver New Year presents for the children of Donbas, among other items.

Both Donetsk and Luhansk are suffering from a severe humanitarian crisis as a result of Kiev's military operation against the pro-independence forces in southeastern Ukraine.

Ninth Russian Humanitarian Aid Convoy Reaches Donetsk, Luhansk
Since August, Russia has sent nine humanitarian convoys with some 12,000 tons of aid to the crisis-stricken eastern Ukrainian regions.

The most recent convoy of more than 130 trucks brought 1,200 tons of aid to the region on December 12.

Last week, the Russian deputy emergencies minister announced Moscow is planning to send two more aid convoys to Ukraine before the end of 2014.
