A cat crept through a window, devouring packages of sea-food including squid and dried fish causing damage worth $1,000.

MOSCOW, December 11 (Sputnik) – A ginger cat ate seafood costing more than $1,000 at Vladivostok international airport.

The ginger culprit sneaked into a fish shop at the airport through a window during the night and ate squid and dried fish. The cat also scratched open many packages of seafood leaving some of the items half- eaten. The total damage caused was around $1,000, reports RIA Novosti.

According to a shop keeper, "at night a cat crept through the window, ate, scratched packages including squid and dried fish.” The shop sellers described the products as spoiled now and said that they will be disposed. She calculated total damage at 63 thousand rubles ($1,000).

According to the shop keeper, the cat sleeps and lives near the airport and sometimes comes into the terminal building.

"I often see him nearby, last saw the cat yesterday. Maybe someone around here feeds him," added the shopkeeper.

The airport staff has thus far not commented on the incident, reports RIA Novosti.
