VIENNA, December 9 (Sputnik), Daria Chernyshova — All countries must sign the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), while those, which have already ratified it must comply with the agreement, Denmark’s delegation to the International Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons said Tuesday.

"The time is now for all of us to show the necessary courage and commitment to ensure nuclear disarmament, safeguards, and strict non-proliferation. We therefore urge states that have not yet done so to sign and ratify the NPT, and member states to fully comply with it,” Denmark’s delegation said in a statement following the conference in Vienna.

The Danish delegation expressed concern over the increased number of conflicts raging all across the globe.

"Unfortunately, the world of today is characterized by more unrest and more conflicts in and among states. The crisis in Ukraine is more than a ripple on the surface," the delegation stated, calling on leaders to build trust and confidence and to focus on common ground.
