MOSCOW, November 29 (Sputnik) — The League of Arab States agreed to draft a resolution setting time limits for the creation of the Palestinian state that will be presented to the United Nations Security Council Saturday.

The foreign ministers of the League of Arab States formed a committee on Saturday to find international support for the resolution on the creation of the Palestinian state, Al Jazeera reported, citing the closing statement of the committee comprising Kuwait, Mauritania, Jordan and chief of the League of Arab States Nabil al-Arabi.

According to the agency, the draft resolution will be presented in the coming days by Jordan, an Arab non-permanent member of the Security Council.

Palestinians seek the creation of an independent state on the territories of the West Bank in East Jerusalem, partially occupied by Israel, and the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, and want Israel to withdraw from the Palestinian territories it took after the 1967 war.

In early October, Palestine worked out a draft UN Security Council resolution that defines strict time limits for Israel to end its occupation and remove its settlements before November 2016.
