MOSCOW, November 27 (Sputnik) – Over a hundred demonstrators protesting a grand jury decision not to indict a white police officer over the death of an African-American teenager in Ferguson were detained Wednesday by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), CBS news reported.

In total, 130 demonstrators were arrested in Los Angeles for failing to disperse, the television network said.

"A dispersal order was given earlier this evening, when they were told not to reassemble and engage in unlawful behavior," CBS news quoted LAPD officer Lt. Andy Neiman as saying.

Protesters that do not post the $500 bail will have to attend court at the beginning of next week, the police officer added.

The protests in Los Angeles began Monday following the grand jury's decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson, who killed 18-year-old Michael Brown in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson on August 9.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department announced it had arrested over 160 protesters.
