White House spokesman said that US President Barack Obama to sign two presidential memorandums that will streamline the country's immigration system.

WASHINGTON, November 22 (Sputnik) – US President Barack Obama will sign two presidential memorandums that will streamline the country's immigration system, White House spokesman Eric Schultz has confirmed.

"He [President Obama] will sign those [Memorandums] today," Schultz said at a press briefing Friday, adding "We'll let you know when we have an update on the timing."

The memorandums will help streamline the immigration visa processing system in the United States, reducing the amount of money that the US government spends on visa procedures.

The White House will also develop "a Task Force on New Americans" to coordinate a federal strategy across several US government agencies to develop ways to integrate immigrants into communities across the United States.

On Thursday, Obama outlined how he will use his executive powers to modify US immigration law. The president's executive action is aimed at allowing illegal immigrants who have lived in the United States for over five years to register to stay in the country temporarily without being deported.

US Republicans have expressed outrage over Obama acting unilaterally on immigration reform.
