Three French citizens fighting for Islamic State (IS) burnt their passports and called for terror in France on video released at Thursday.

MOSCOW, November 20 (Sputnik) — Al-Hayat, the Islamic State's (IS) official media outlet, aired Thursday a video that showed three French citizens burning their passports and calling on Muslims in France to impose terror at home.

"You [Frenchmen] have oppressed us, fought our religion and insulted our prophet [Muhammad], peace upon him. And today, we disbelieve in you and your passports, and if you come here we will fight you," a masked fighter said in the video.

According to another militant, identified in the video as Abu Salman Faranci, Muslims that have no means to go to Syria have to start jihad, attack civilians and do as much harm as possible in France.

"Terrorise them [Frenchmen] and do not allow them to sleep due to fear and horror. There are weapons and cars available and targets ready to be hit. Even poison is available, so poison the water and food of at least one of the enemies of Allah," he said.

The IS has released numerous propagandist videos urging Muslims to join their struggle against the West via the the Al-Hayat Media Center, established in May. Thousands of foreign volunteers from the European Union, the United States and other western countries are reported to be fighting for the jihadist group.

The Islamic State is a Sunni extremist group, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) or the Islamic State and the Levant (ISIL) has been fighting the Syrian government since 2012. In June, the group extended its attacks to northern and western Iraq, declaring a caliphate on the territories that had fallen under its control. A US-led coalition is currently carrying out airstrikes against IS positions in Syria and Iraq.
