According to the Donetsk People's Republic's government, "the residential neighborhoods and industrial targets, located in the north-eastern outskirts of Donetsk" were shelled seven times during the night. Two civilians were injured, three residential buildings were damaged.

DONETSK, November 9 (RIA Novosti) — Ukrainian security forces continue shelling Donetsk's residential neighborhoods and suburbs, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic's (DPR) government stated Sunday on its official website.

"The shelling of Donetsk's residential areas and its suburbs continued," the DPR's government's statement read.

According to the statement, "the residential neighborhoods and industrial targets, located in the north-eastern outskirts of Donetsk" were shelled seven times during the night. Two civilians were injured, three residential buildings were damaged.

During the night the situation has not changed. The residential areas are still under shelling, the DPR's government reported.

In mid-April, Kiev authorities launched a military operation against independence supporters in eastern Ukraine. The conflicting sides reached a ceasefire agreement at a September 5 meeting of the trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine in Minsk. A memorandum specifying the implementation of the ceasefire was adopted at another Contact Group meeting on September 19.

Both sides have subsequently accused each other of violating the truce. The special monitoring mission deployed in the conflict-torn regions by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) continues to report instances of shelling.
