MOSCOW, November 9 (RIA Novosti) — Two explosions have rocked Kabul Sunday morning, Khaama Press reported.

The first explosion took place in Kart-e-Naw area of Kabul, no casualties were reported.

According to Khaama Press, the Deputy Interior Minister for Security Gen. Mohammad Ayub Salangi has confirmed the explosion, but has not specified the type of the blast. No one has claimed responsibility for the explosion.

The second explosion reportedly took place inside Kabul's police headquarters killing one person and injuring eight.

According to Khaama Press, Kabul's police chief Gen. Mohammad Zahir Zahir has not specified the type of the explosion, but has confirmed that the case is now under investigation.

The news outlet has stated that the Taliban was behind the second explosion and claimed responsibility for it.

The Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001, managing to control 90 percent of the country's territory. Their support for terrorism and fundamentalism caused them to be ousted from power by US military intervention and the Afghan opposition, following the September 11 attacks.
