The eighth India-Russia Forum for Trade and Investments was held in New Delhi within the frameworks of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation.

MOSCOW, November 5 (RIA Novosti) — The eighth India-Russia Forum for Trade and Investments has become an answer to the sanctions imposed on Russia by the West over the Ukrainian crisis, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said in a Wednesday tweet.

"Russia-India Business Forum in New Delhi has gathered a lot of people. This is how businessmen respond to Western sanctions," Rogozin wrote.

Rogozin and Indian Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj co-chaired the 20th meeting of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation Wednesday.

Within the frameworks of the commission, the eighth India-Russia Forum for Trade and Investments was held in New Delhi.

Over the last months, the European Union and the United States have implemented several rounds of economic sanctions over Moscow’s alleged participation in the Ukrainian conflict.

In March, The European Union expanded asset freezes and travel bans on Dmitry Rogozin, speakers of the lower and upper houses of the Russian parliament, as well as two aides to President Vladimir Putin for being allegedly responsible for what the West considers the seizure of Ukraine’s former region of Crimea by Russia.
