Deputy chief of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s national center for management in emergency situations Oleg Voronov confirmed that Russian humanitarian aid convoy has reached Donetsk and Luhansk.

DONETSK, November 4 (RIA Novosti) — The sixth Russian humanitarian aid convoy has reached Donetsk and Luhansk, deputy chief of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s national center for management in emergency situations Oleg Voronov said Tuesday.

"Ten trucks have arrived in Luhansk, they delivered more than 50 tons of medicines and fuel. The unloading of the convoy will begin now," Voronov said.

Some 10 trucks carrying fuel and medical supplies have arrived in Donetsk as well.

Earlier on Tuesday, all of the 20 trucks making up the convoy passed the Donetsk-Izvarino border crossing, where they were checked in the presence of Ukrainian customs officers and border guards, as well as of OSCE observers, according to the Russian official. The trucks split into two groups and proceeded along two roads to deliver the aid to both Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Since August, Russia has sent five humanitarian convoys to eastern Ukraine, which has suffered greatly from the Kiev-led military operation against the region's independence supporters.
