The new European Commission plans to invest €300 billion ($375 billion)to revive the European Union's economy and create jobs and to assist companies with money raising on the capital markets, to introduce reforms in the banking sector and to improve the field of telecommunications services.

MOSCOW, October 31 (RIA Novosti) — As it is embarking on its five-year term in counted hours, the new European Commission has pledged to bring new and positive changes into the European Union.

It is planning on investing €300 billion ($375 billion) in a bid to revive the European Union's economy and create jobs. But before Jean —Claude Juncker, the president of the new commission, can put it into action, the move will have to be approved by the European Parliament. Juncker has also voiced initiatives to assist companies with money raising on the capital markets for investments in addition to bank loans.

The new European Commission will also attempt to introduce reforms in the banking sector and improve the field of telecommunications services provided to the union's public.

Emissions, renewable energy and its savings will also take a central place in the new Commissions priorities as will the trade talks with the United States. The new Commission says it will seek to cut the imports of energy into the union.

Bolstering the EU's role in the international arena and introducing tighter migration policies are also among the priorities that the New Commission has set.

"From Ukraine to Syria, to the Middle East and North Africa, our neighbourhood remains shaky and unstable. Scores of immigrants, arriving at Europe's external frontiers in search of a better future remind us of the need to reconcile the quest of solidarity with the demand for safe borders. And cross-border health threats like the Ebola epidemic have seized citizens with an understandable degree of fear. We cannot and will not sweep these mounting problems under the carpet. We cannot and will not turn a blind eye. That is why I insist that the time for European action is now," Juncker said when addressing the European parliament last week.

The Commission is responsible for managing and implementing EU policies as well as representing the union outside Europe

The structure of the new Commission was approved by the union's parliament last week and consists of President Jean-Claude Juncker, seven vice presidents and 20 commissioners.
