Massive fire at Public Radio in Paris forcing personnel to evacuate and broadcasting to be suspended.

MOSCOW, October 31 (RIA Novosti) – A massive fire broke out at the iconic Public Radio headquarters in Paris on Friday, forcing personnel to evacuate and broadcasting to be suspended, France 24 reports.

The building, “Maison de la Radio”, is home to French public radio stations. According to the preliminary reports, the fire broke out 12:30 p.m. local time (1:30 p.m. GMT) on the seventh and eighth floors of the 16-storey building. Staff was evacuated.

"We are forced to interrupt our programmes and evacuate," France 24 cited a France Info journalist as saying.

Firefighters arrived at the scene immediately. There have been no reports of injury, according to Deutsche Welle.

Maison de la Radio was built in 1963. The building was undergoing renovations, and was not being used by radio personnel, the Associated Press reported.
