KIEV, October 27 (RIA Novosti) — The two leading parties in Ukraine's parliamentary elections are still leading after 50 percent of the ballots have been tallied, according to the country’s Central Election Commission.
According to the Central Election Commission’s latest information, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s People’s Party is leading with 21.61 percent with the country’s president’s Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc slightly behind with 21.45 percent.
The two leading parties are currently holding talks on creating a coalition, the head of the Petro Poroshenko's Bloc Yuriy Lutsenko said earlier today.
Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc and Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s People’s Party are followed by the Samopomich (Self-Help) party headed by mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy now gaining 11.1 percent of the votes, the Opposition Bloc with 9.82 percent, Oleh Lyashko's nationalist Radical Party with 7.38 percent of the votes and Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party headed by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko with 5.69 percent.
Early parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on Sunday. Ukraine's Central Election Commission said Monday that voter turnout in the country's parliamentary elections stood at 52.42 percent after compiling data from all 198 districts.
