MOSCOW, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - One American has been fatally shot and another injured after their car came under fire in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, Sky News reported Tuesday.
Citing official reports, Sky News stated that an unknown gunman fired at the two Americans at a petrol station. The attacker was later wounded when security forces returned fire.
No further information is yet known about the state of the injured American and gunman.
This February, Saudi Arabia adopted anti-terrorism legislation applying to any kind of wrongdoing which causes either direct or indirect disruption to the public order, security and stability in the kingdom or which poses a threat to the kingdom's national unity.
The legislation entitles law enforcement bodies of the kingdom to take into custody and detain terrorist suspects for six months with a possibility of renewing the arrest for a further six months.
