The Sochi racetrack will become one of the brightest-shining Formula One diamonds, Russian cross-country rally driver, Kamaz-Master pilot Vladimir Chagin said Monday.

MOSCOW, October 13 (RIA Novosti) – The Sochi racetrack will become one of the brightest-shining Formula One diamonds, Russian cross-country rally driver, Kamaz-Master pilot Vladimir Chagin said Monday.

"For sure, the Sochi racetrack will become one of the most precious diamonds in the royal racing [Formula 1] "necklace." Olympic objects fit perfectly in the racetrack's architecture and have filled it with ideology. Perfect organization, and as a result, a perfect race. Everything happened without a hitch," Chagin was quoted as saying by his team's press service.

The Kamaz-Master team that has won the Dakar Rally a record 12 times attended the first-ever Russian Grand Prix that took place on October 10-12 in the resort city of Sochi. British driver Lewis Hamilton, racing for Mercedes, won the race, while Russian Daniil Kvyat, racing for Toro Rosso, finished in 14th place.

"I am sure that Daniil has a good future … I have no doubt that in the nearest future we will see that Daniil will be getting closer and closer to the podium," Chagin added.

The Sochi Autodrom is 5.854 kilometers (2.637 miles) long and has 12 right turns and six left turns. The maximum speed that can be achieved on the track is 320 kph (199 mph). Some 65,000 spectators attended the Russian Grand Prix this year.
