PARIS, October 13 (RIA Novosti) - France is considering the introduction of Ebola screening for the passengers, arriving to the country on direct flights from the capital of West Africa's Guinea Conakry due to fears of Ebola spread, the country's Health Minister Marisol Touraine stated Monday.

"We are considering an opportunity to tighten control over direct flights arriving from Conakry, if the situation will require such measures," Touraine said.

The minister also added that the possibility of sending health professionals and complementary medicines and drugs to West Africa is being discussed in Paris.

The Ebola epidemic currently taking place in West Africa broke out in southern Guinea in February, and later spread across the entire region, with cases also having been reported in Spain and the United States. The number of people, who have died from the Ebola virus has reached 4,033, while a total of 8,399 cases have been reported, according to WHO.

The Ebola virus is transmitted through direct contact with the bodily fluids of those infected. Though there is no officially approved medication for the disease, several countries are currently working on developing Ebola vaccines.
