The second race of the GP3 series in Sochi was halted after an accident occurred on the first turn of the first lap.

MOSCOW, October 12 (RIA Novosti) - The second race of the GP3 series in Sochi was halted after an accident occurred on the first turn of the first lap.

Four drivers - Richie Stanaway, Alex Fontana, Pal Varhaug and Riccardo Agostini - crashed on the first turn. The race has now been resumed and stewards are investigating the incident, seeing Alex Fontana and Jimmy Eriksson as possible initiators of the crash.

The 2014 Russian Grand Prix, running over 53 laps, or 309.745 kilometers (192.475 miles), is currently taking place in the southern resort city of Sochi.

The Sochi Autodrome is 5.854 kilometers (2.637 miles) long and has 12 right turns and six left turns. The maximum speed that can be achieved on the track is expected to be about 320 km/h (199 mph). The Sochi Autodrome can seat 55,000 spectators.
