WARSAW, October 3 (RIA Novosti) - Poland is "satisfied" with the United States' decision to sell 40 US-made AGM-158 joint air-to-ground standoff missiles to Warsaw, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Tomasz Siemoniak said Friday, as quoted by the Polish Press Agency (PAP).

"I'm very satisfied with the fact that the American authorities have decided on all the procedural matters very quickly. We remember the situation with Finland which has waited for eight years for a decision to be made," Siemoniak said.

On Thursday, the US embassy in Warsaw said that US authorities endorsed the decision to sell 40 high-precision missiles manufactured by the Lockheed Martin corporation to Poland.

The total sum of the contract is estimated at around $500 million.

The AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) is a low observance standoff cruise missile developed in the United States, currently in service in the US, Australia and Finland.
