MOSCOW, September 30 (RIA Novosti) — The Ukrainian Internet party will include six Darth Vaders on the ballot for the country’s Parliament, Vesti FM reports Tuesday.
Six candidates all named Darth Vader have been successfully registered by the Central Election Commission of Ukraine to compete in the snap parliamentary election appointed on October, 26.
Besides, Darth Vaders will be accompanied by their party fellows Padme Amidala, Stepan Chewbacca, Grand Master Yoda and Emperor Palpatine. The website of the Ukrainian CEC provides biographies of the candidates. It states that, for instance, Darth Vader owns a firm called “The Dark Side of the Force” whereas Emperor Palpatine runs “Palpatine finance group”.
Back in May, Darth Vader participated in the Kiev mayoral election and won 1,74% of the vote. He also applied for the presidential election on May, 25 this year but his candidature was discarded by the CEC due to document irregularities.
The Internet party was established in 2007 and views the creation of efficient political rule as its priority. To attain this aim, the party fosters the development of the digital sphere, especially electronic government technologies.
The Party is famous for its vigorous image based on provocative PR-campaigns and absolute impersonation of “Star Wars” characters in terms of clothes and behavior. Darth Vader patrolled the streets with a squadron of imperial stormtroopers and Chewbacca roared. Darth Vader’s refusal to take off his helmet cost him his voting right at the presidential election.
