LUHANSK, September 26 (RIA Novosti) – A deputy prime minister of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) told RIA Novosti on Friday a gas delivery agreement was reached with Russia in case Kiev cuts its supplies to the breakaway region.

"If gas deliveries from Ukraine fail, we already have an agreement to supply gas from Russia," Valery Potapov said.

According to Potapov, the negotiations were held with LPR head Igor Plotnitsky in Moscow on Thursday. Over the course of the negotiations, issues on economic cooperation between Russian and LPR were also discussed, Potapov added.

On September 17, the deputy prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Andrei Purgin, said that both the LPR and the DPR were in talks with Russia on gas deliveries.
