UNITED NATIONS, September 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is set to develop cooperation with Lebanon in all fields, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday during a meeting with the chairman of Lebanon’s Council of Ministers Tammam Salam.
Russia is “ready to develop cultural and humanitarian ties, cooperation in the field of education, as well as economy, trade and investment,” Lavrov said. “We are ready for any form of cooperation,” he added.
“Today’s meeting is an opportunity to express our solidarity with Lebanon, support the efforts of its government and see where we could go in the future,” the Russian minister said.
Lavrov and Salam met on the sidelines of the 69th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
