MOSCOW, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Czech tennis player Karolina Pliskova has become the first semifinalist at the Kia Korean Open, a Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Seoul, Korea with a prize fund of $500,000 on Friday.

Second-seed Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic beat Nicole Gibbs of the United States 6-3, 6-4. The match lasted for 1 hour and 14 minutes.
