MOSCOW, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - BBC correspondent, Dominic Casciani speaks out via twitter as one of many Brits "horrified" by the execution of British journalist, David Haines, revealed in a video released by the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group on Saturday.

"I've lost count of the number of British Muslim organizations and thinkers who are horrified by the murder of David Haines. Examples follow," Casciani tweeted on Sunday.

Casciani cited the Muslim Council of Britain in his next tweet which stated the murder of Haines was a display of the "depravity and warped ideology" of IS extremists. Sunni Scholar and Imam at an award-winning Leeds Makkah Mosque, Qari Asim, shared the council's sentiments, calling the militants "cowards," while an organization working with imams across the United Kingdom, Faith Associates, commented on Haines" death by declaring "The attack on one of our citizens is an attack on all of us."

"ISIS hides behind its false interpretation Islam, they are criminals," Ali Abbas Razawi, a leading Shia cleric said, as tweeted by Casciani.

According to a plea written by an ex member of the British Jihadi network, Hassan Butt for the Observer, radicals and extremist groups have tarnished the Islamic religion by justifying terror and declaring war upon all individuals who do not follow Islam. This justification adopted by groups like IS, wrongly allows jihadists to kill civilians in the name of Islam.

British Prime Minister David Cameron called the execution of Haines a "despicable and appalling murder of an innocent aid worker" and claimed the IS was "a brutal terrorist outfit whose actions are an affront to every peace loving Muslim around the world," according to the Telegraph. Cameron announced UK and the international community would bring the perpetrators of Haines" murder to justice. Cameron convened an emergency meeting of the Cobra committee on Sunday morning.

IS, known for proclaiming hardline Islamic fundamentalism, has been fighting the Syrian government since 2012 capturing territories across Iraq and Syria. In June 2014, the group proclaimed an Islamic caliphate over its conquered regions.
