The Koktebel Jazz Party, which is underway in Crimea, will become internationally acknowledged, Valery Ponomaryov, a Russian-born jazz trumpeter, who has lived in the United States since 1973, told RIA Novosti Saturday.

KOKTEBEL, September 13 (RIA Novosti), Nadezhda Kulikova – The Koktebel Jazz Party, which is underway in Crimea, will become internationally acknowledged, Valery Ponomaryov, a Russian-born jazz trumpeter, who has lived in the United States since 1973, told RIA Novosti Saturday.

“This is already a festival of international significance and very soon it will be acknowledged worldwide. All the performers will go back to their countries and tell everyone in details about this amazing event. The popularity will be enormous,” Ponomaryov said.

“The festival is simply fabulous and promises to be the best in the world,” Ponomaryov added.

He also praised the high level of the Koktebel Jazz Party organization.

The Ponomarev’s sextet, We Remember Art Blakey, will perform later on Saturday on the main stage of the festival. The International Jazz Quintet of Yakov Okun and Deborah Brown, Tom Harrell and the Jamal Thomas Band are also among the festival's headliners.

The Koktebel Jazz Party is an international festival organized by Rossiya Segodnya Information Agency in conjunction with Russia’s Ministry of Culture. Hosted by Koktebel, one of the most popular resort towns in Crimea, on September 12-15, the festival is being attended by some of the best jazz bands from Russia, Brazil, the United States, Israel, Britain, India, Armenia, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The general partner of the festival is "Rosseti," the official partner is "Russian Railways," the official ticket partner - Parter.ru.
