MINSK, September 5 (RIA Novosti) – Participants of the Contact Group meeting in Minsk continued talks Friday after making a brief press statement.
After the first round of the talks, all participants of the meeting, except for Luhansk People’s Republic Parliament Chairman Alexei Karyakin and Donetsk People’s Republic Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin, came out to reporters.
Members of the Contact Group on Ukrainian reconciliation announced they signed a deal to declare a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine starting from 15:00 GMT.
Donetsk Prime Minister Aleksandr Zakharchenko, his Luhansk counterpart Igor Plotnitsky and OSCE representative Heidi Tagliavini were briefed by reporters, and then all members of the Contact Group returned to the President Hotel for further discussions.
Earlier, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service said that the participants of the Contact Group meeting in Minsk “will continue their work” after making the press statement.
