American Theater Critic: 'Russian Literature – Home I Didn’t Know I Had'

It is interesting to learn how, sometimes, small incidents open a whole new world you never would have known about otherwise. So it happened for John Freedman, when he was a boy and grew up in “a desert” – as he funnily said – of south California.  He just randomly picked up a book, it happened to be “War and Peace” by Tolstoy, and here he is, living in Moscow.
