MOSCOW, September 1 (RIA Novosti) - Despite Western sanctions, Rosneft will be able to keep on financing its investment projects, and it also guarantees the fulfillment of contractual obligations, the company’s CEO Igor Sechin said.

"Rosneft and other Russian enterprises will strictly comply with obligations under the signed contracts," Sechin said in an interview with the German magazine Spiegel.

Rosneft CEO also said that the company will be able to keep on financing investment projects. India and China’s decision to further increase the purchases of oil and other products will contribute to this.

"They [the Western countries] want to isolate Russia, but it’s impossible," Sechin said.

The anti-Russian sanctions are likely to hurt German companies, in particular, those that produce good drill rigs, Sechin said. Their quality is undeniable, however, "if the Germans do not want to supply them to Russia, we can buy such rigs in South Korea or China," Rosneft CEO said.

The EU sanctions package prohibits exporting to Russia technologies and equipment linked to deep water and Arctic oil exploration and production, as well as to shale-oil projects. The United States also introduced sanctions banning future contracts on supplying Russia with technologies and equipment used for hydrocarbon development.

Russia reacted by introducing a one-year ban on certain food imports from the European Union, the United States, Canada, Australia and Norway. The list of banned products includes meat, fish, fruits, vegetables and dairy products.
