MOSCOW, August 11 (RIA Novosti) – Russia is not refusing to participate in foreign defense exhibitions and will take part in the Euronaval international arms show, the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation’s deputy director told journalists Monday.

"We are not refusing the participation in foreign exhibitions and will take a worthy part in the Parisian Euronaval exhibition," Konstantin Biryulin said.

Biryulin earlier said Russia could limit its participation in defense shows, especially European ones, due to sanctions the European Union imposed on the country in the past four months over the Ukrainian crisis.

"We will decide on the extent of our participation later," he said.

The United States, the European Union and their allies have introduced several rounds of targeted sanctions against Russian companies and individuals since Crimea’s reunification with Russia in March. In a more recent incident in July, the United States and the European Union introduced sectoral sanctions targeting Russia's defense, energy and banking sectors.
