MOSCOW, August 4 (RIA Novosti) - The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine came under fire on their way to the Boeing 777 crash site in Donetsk Region, Russian television channel Ren TV reported on Monday.
“A Ren TV reporter, together with the OSCE mission came under fire on their way to Boeing crash site,” the channel reported via their Twitter account.
Earlier, the OSCE said that the investigators resumed their work at the crash site of the Malaysia Airlines plane. Eight OSCE monitors and more than 100 Dutch and Australian representatives were working at the site, trying to determine the causes of the catastrophe.
Over the past few weeks, the investigative team was forced to suspend its work several times amid continuing shelling near the crash site.
A Malaysia Airlines plane heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed July 17 near the city of Donetsk in Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.
Kiev blamed the independence supporters in eastern Ukraine for shooting down the plane. However, local militia leaders insist that they did not possess weapons capable of bringing down an aircraft flying at 32,000 feet.
Russia has repeatedly stressed the importance of a transparent international investigation.
