The self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) is facing a humanitarian crisis, LPR Prime Minister Marat Bashirov said Wednesday.

MOSCOW, July 30 (RIA Novosti) – The self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) is facing a humanitarian crisis, LPR Prime Minister Marat Bashirov said Wednesday.

“The Ukrainian Army is systematically destroying our infrastructure. Kirovskaya substation has been destroyed and we cannot fix it as there is no [secure] access to it. The city [of Luhansk] is experiencing an electricity shortage, one-third of the city has no power, and two-thirds are experiencing electricity supply interruptions on a regular basis,” Bashirov said.

The pro-Kiev forces are also destroying Luhansk substations serving the local food industry.

“We do not get meat products anymore. Refrigerators do not work at the Luhansk meat processing plant… The city is out of milk,” the LPR prime minister said.

Ukrainian energy company Naftogaz warned the LPR authorities that it will cut gas supplies by 30 percent, Bashirov added.

The city of Luhansk is also expected to run out of drinking water in 10 days as a local treatment plant stopped processing water on Monday, according to the LPR prime minister.

“These are the facts that help to answer the question of whether or not there is a humanitarian crisis in Luhansk People’s Republic,” Bashirov concluded.

Earlier in the day, militia forces reported that they found what appears to be a ballistic missile warhead in Luhansk Region.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that the Kiev government intensified military operations against its own people after getting support from Western countries.

Moscow has described the ongoing military action as a punitive operation and has repeatedly called on Kiev to put an immediate end to the bloodshed.
