More than 730 international observers have already arrived in Ukraine to monitor the country’s presidential election scheduled for Sunday, Ukraine’s State Border Service said Wednesday.

MOSCOW, May 21 (RIA Novosti) – More than 730 international observers have already arrived in Ukraine to monitor the country’s presidential election scheduled for Sunday, Ukraine’s State Border Service said Wednesday.

“International observers continue coming to Ukraine for the presidential election. More than 730 foreign observers have already crossed the Ukrainian border,” the press service said in a statement.

A total of 2,784 observers and 1,183 reporters from 154 media outlets have been registered to monitor the election, according to the country’s Central Election Committee.

Ukraine saw a regime change in late February after the so-called Maidan mass rallies in Kiev. The Ukrainian parliament backed by far-right movements ousted elected president Viktor Yanukovych, amended the country’s constitution and scheduled early elections for May 25.

Moscow has said that the legitimacy of the upcoming election will depend on a number of conditions including transparency and the interests of the regions.
