MOSCOW, May 15 (RIA Novosti) – A ruptured oil pipe near the suburb of Glendale has spilled over 50,000 gallons of crude oil onto streets, according to an alert published on the Los Angeles Fire Department website Thursday.
According to the department’s most recent news release, the leak from a 20-inch pipe affected an area of approximately half a mile in Atwater Village and the oil line was remotely shut off.
The spill is knee-high in some areas.
No injuries were reported, as special crews are on the scene. Several commercial businesses have been affected so far.
