MOSCOW, February 6 (RIA Novosti) – RIA Novosti will collect the most interesting Instagram pictures taken at the XXII Olympic Winter Games, to be held in Sochi on February 7-23, 2014.

RIA Novosti Group has launched a project to collect Instagram photos dedicated to the Sochi Winter Olympics.

To take part in the project, Instagram users need to publish a photo using the hashtags #olympics or #сочи2014 and mention @ria_novosti from February 7 through February 23. Photos may feature any event or subject within the Olympics: the opening ceremony, interesting moments during sports events, sports fans, the life of Sochi and other related subjects. The best photos will be published on social networks and on the agency’s websites, as well the RIA Novosti main website, ria.ru.

RIA Novosti has had similar Instagram projects before, such as a series of photos featuring the 2014 Olympics countdown, the 2013 World Championships in Athletics held in Moscow, Victory Day in Russia’s regions, school graduation ceremonies and many others.
The Instagram mobile service belongs to Facebook, the world’s largest social network, and allows users to publish photos and videos, use various filters and share them through social networks.

In September 2011, the International Olympic Committee designated RIA Novosti Group, including the R-Sport news agency, the Host National News Agency and Photo Pool for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games. In March 2013, RIA Novosti was designated the Host National News Agency and Photo Pool for the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games.
